About me
I am a musician, songwriter, composer, arranger and vocal-arranger. I have been in music my whole life because something always keeps me interested. This mysterious force draws me in with unusual melodies, captivating harmonies and rhythms, and all kinds of genres and styles. I love to bring my own twist on everything I know into the world through writing my own music. Any time I try to emulate someone else’s style, my music always sounds a little bit different, or strange. I take great pride in this, as it means I don’t force myself to fall into a specific style, but I’d say I identify most with folk/alternative styles.
One of the most exciting opportunities I’ve had access to was performing at Warwickshire Pride’s Festival in 2024, which was attended by 10,000 people in total.
I’ve grown up in music. Whether I’ve shied away from it or embraced it, I’ve come back to it. It’s been the one thing I can always rely on to be a creative expression of thoughts and feelings that are too great for words. You can do literally anything within music, and I intend to do just that. What I say about music is that it’s literally just play!
A big part of my life is that I am autistic. It is an important factor of my personality and daily life, but I do not think it defines me. I realised that I am just me. I do however think that it makes me a lot more critical and attentive, than most people, when it comes to music. I like to pick apart songs and say what’s strong and what’s not, and this involves my own music. I think music is what I’m best at and nothing quite compares. Fun fact: at one point in my life I thought I’d never make it as a musician. I grew up playing violin and singing in choir but I never actually thought I’d be any good. But I kept working and working on my voice and now that’s my main instrument when it used to be violin. How interesting is that?
What you’ll also come to know about me is that I rarely write a song that doesn’t have any vocal harmonies, or harmonies in general.
When I’m on my own I spend hours at a time arranging harmonies for a song because it’s just so much fun, and it just completes a song.
Current Projects
I’ve been thinking for a while about how the world is changing and a lot of scary things are happening. So, I decided to write a musical about it all! I want to convey similar themes to what Wicked, in that it tells a fun story but with a deep meaning. It’s simple to understand but the characters have to learn to embrace the main character, Elphaba. She is undoubtedly different and, most importantly, not less. I want to ask big questions, blurring the lines between what is traditionally “right” or “wrong,” and channel my confusion and frustration into a story that can be enjoyed but thought about by anyone.
I’m hoping to have a concept album ready to be released in September 2026!
